HDMI is DIGITAL. Component video is ANALOG. The is NO WAY to convert Digital to Analog WITHOUT the use of a conversion process using electronics. This cable can not work.. EVER! Here is more info from another supplier: [...]

Unfortunately, this cable did not work. The RF output on my PS3 stopped working and so I had hoped to use this as an alternative on the TV set aside for my gaming which has a component connection and no HDMI. Unfortunatley, the cable did not work. I tried it on another TV and still got no signal through this cable. I do not know if it's a faulty cable or a scam based on the previous feedback I read on this item. It seems to me that if this cable were to someday really work, it should convert any HDMI signal to a component signal and vice-versa irrespective of the input or output it is connected to. Now to try and get my money back!

This is a scam. There is no such thing as an HDMI to component, composite or s-video cable. HDMI is a digital signal, component, composite or s-video are analog signals. You need an active device to convert the signal types.

This HDMI to Svideo Cable does not exist and there is no such thing as an HDMI to Svideo Cable! If someone is selling an HDMI to Svideo Cable don't buy it as it doesn't work.
HDMI to Svideo Cable doesn't exist because:
1. HDMI is digital with pulses and Svideo is analog with waveforms so an HDMI to Svideo Cable won't work
2. HDMI has 19 pins and Svideo + audio has only 3 so an HDMI to Svideo Cable won't work
3. HDMI has the HDCP copy protection signal whereas there is no component equivalent so an HDMI to Svideo Cable won't work.
4. A cable is a passive device made up of 2 connectors, solder and wires. It cannot convert one digital signal into another analog signal so an HDMI to Svideo Cable won't work
HDMI to S-Video is a myth just like the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy!
The only way to convert anything from HDMI to S-Video is to buy an actual convertor box made for this purpose!

Ordered two cables, neither one worked. Contacted Action Packaged group 18 days after receiving product and was informed they had a 10 day support clause. 'Thanks for buying our product and sorry you missed the 10 day warranty.'
