Good quality keypad with some flaws July 29, 2010 Capt. Plu (New York, NY) I bought this for messaging over PSN with my friends.
Pros: Nicely made. Doesn't drain DS3 battery. Comes off easily. The touchpad feature is nice, but I never use it because I don't websurf on the PS3.
Cons: I really wish it had been more like the Xbox 360 messenger keypad. It should be on the bottom between the grips. For $50, having a backlight would have been much better. When I game, I usually have a light on only around the TV, not behind me, so it's hard to read the keys. It's especially hard to see the alternate characters. The buttons are too small and I make frequent errors (maybe I'll get better with practice). I have fairly skinny fingers too. I would have preferred a lower price with a backlight and no touchpad feature. Honestly the analog stick is probably easier for web pointing and clicking.
Some things are unnecessarily complicated, like Caps Lock. You have press a colored button and then caps lock. Why not just hold down the Shift button for two seconds?
In comparison, I got the Xbox 360 Live 12 Month Messenger Gold Pack with a keypad, PGR4, 12 month XBL card, and wired headset for almost the same price as this.
Dis-honest shipping fees, be honest when selling items. Scammer. July 26, 2010 Dlance 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The keyboard it's so helpful with typing and browsing since the entire keys with a press of a button become a Mouse pad, for browsing on PS3; same concept as using the mouse pad on a notebook with a lil difference that the surface its not smooth but get used to it in matter of sec/min.
I do have to make a point I desided to write a review here for. One of the reasons it's because I strongly believe people who sell a item and try to be so sneaky with shipping and handling are scammers and I won't support people who are dis/honest. Don't mark down the price if you going to over charge on shipping and the sec it takes to place on a envelop. Should be a policy on scammers who do such thing. No way this item would cost close to 15USD for shipping, it's less then 1/2 a pound. Please don't buy from people who do this pls. Please be honest when selling a item or don't sell it at all. It's discusted enough There hundreds o them on EBay. Stay alway from amazon also.
little, fully funtional, excellent July 2, 2010 Jorge Roman (Caracas, VZLA) this is a "have to" accesory for your PS3, not only to write over a chat in the network with your ps3, I bougth to test with my laptop. I had a wireless keyboard with a touchpad mouse but with batteries and all this problem to recharge and the size, it died later 2 months of use... bad!... BUT with this little keyboard is like I write over my blackberry, nice... and the touchpad mouse (when I activate) was excellent for me. Best limited funtions wireless keyboard bluetooth portable and little I ever have.
Key too small June 16, 2010 Victor Rodriguez (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Keys are way too small and lettering too dim to the point its almost not usable. I was hoping that having this keyboard would be easier to use than pulling up the interface on screen but its not. Its just too small and you have to be in a well lit room to even see lettering because lettering printed on keys is just not white enough either. It would be better to just order a larger compatible keyboard to work with PS3 console.
must have keyboard for people who text and uses a PS3!! May 12, 2010 Dao Vang (Somewhere, Ca) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This thing is small and compact.
Very simple to use, fast to connect.
For people who does texting, this is more simple for you to use as you are quick with the fingers in a small environment.
